The US swim team has boasted of big names like Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky, and Ryan Lochte. In fact, Ryan is one of the most successful swimmers and Phelps’ top rival. The superstar has won 12 Olympic medals, and is the second-most decorated swimmer after Phelps. While the swimmer has gone through some ups and downs in his journey, he is still one of the greatest icons.

Ryan recently recounted some of his hilarious stories about when he used to train under his father. The legendary swimmer talked about his early swimming days and how he was responsible for his father’s gray hair.
Ryan Lochte wanted to get out of practice for this!
In an interview, the swimming champion recalled his love for swimming since childhood. Ryan Lochte initially trained under his father and coach, Steve Lochte. He talked about how he would resort to a certain prank that would make his father exasperated. The swimming legend would try and get kicked out of practice almost every day!

The swimmer explained that he wanted to out of practice because it gave him a reason to go clog the showers. There, once he successfully clogged the drains, he would fill up water, pour in some shampoo, and,?“Create a good old slip and slide.”
The swimmer apparently enjoyed the pool so much that he would make his own fun pool inside the shower! This however never sat well with his father and coach, Steve Lochte. He recalled how he used to dread the sight of water overflowing from the showers, knowing who was the culprit. The coach playfully blamed the superstar swimmer for all his gray hair.

Throughout his career, Ryan has hit various bumps on the road. Be it his estrangement from his mother or the infamous 2016 Rio Olympics incident where he was suspended. The iconic swimmer still keeps his head up high and shares a friendly rivalry with the GOAT Michael Phelps. He is still considered one of the most decorated swimmers, giving his competitors a run for their money.
