As the race reached its thrilling climax, victory once again embraced the USA as Claire Curzan surged to the finish, her speed a blazing 27.43, securing her THIRD GOLD (100m backstroke semi-finals, 100m backstroke finals, and 50m backstroke finals) of the 2024 World Championships in Doha and her second World Champion Title.

Hot on her heels, Iona Anderson touched the wall at 27.45, clinching the silver medal, while Ingrid Wilm gracefully secured the bronze with a time of 27.61. Claire Curzan, the talented competitive swimmer and Olympian from Raleigh, North Carolina, has been making a splash in Arabic jewel Doha. Curzan is an American record holder in the short course 50-meter backstroke and 50-meter butterfly. So staying true to these iconic titles, on February 13, 2024, at the Finals of the Women’s 100m Backstroke event, Claire Curzan swam at a blazing 58.29 seconds and clinched the podium, securing a gold medal and her first World Aquatics Championship title.
