Certain of Michael Phelps’ Success, His Mother Once Recalled Picking Up Entire Beijing Olympics Wardrobe Beforehand: “Was Going to Need to Be Prepared”

Similarly, Michael’s mother, Ms. Debbie Phelps, has always trusted Michael Phelps, and she helped him shape his career while improving little things. 

For the Olympian, Phelps’ mother, during 2008 was complete bliss. Witnessing all the hard work his son did throughout the year, she knew what was coming in the results of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

In light of this, Debbie once recalled how she spent her time hand-picking the whole wardrobe for herself before the upcoming victory events of Michael.

Throughout the years, Debbie witnessed the remarkable success of his son, which made her cry with happiness. But Debbie rarely discusses herself or her moments with Michael to give her family’s life a little privacy. However, in 2008, Debbie narrated how she planned a trip to Chico’s store to buy a whole range of clothes for herself.

In the refreshing release of Chico’s statement, Debbie commented, “Before I left for Beijing, I went to Chico’s and picked out my entire wardrobe for the trip. I knew I was going to need to be prepared for a variety of events, activities, and climates. So I picked key pieces that I could mix and match, dress up and dress down.”

The women’s clothing retailer Chico’s displayed a picture of Phelps‘ mother on its website, along with 15 items of attire and accessories that she wore in Beijing. From belts and pants to jackets with great neckpieces, the whole collection gives a glimpse of her perfection in picking stylish clothes. 

Michael’s tiny wardrobe malfunction turns his victory unforgettable 

Every medal Michael has earned unquestionably has a memory attached to it. But his 21st gold medal turned out a bit special for his career. The moment he won the 4200 freestyle relay included a swimming cap mishap. Phelps inaccurately propelled his cap a little harder while cheering for his teammate.

The extreme force caused it to tear the cap. During that period, Phelps subsequently jested and referred to as “a small wardrobe malfunction,” which could have made him lose his sponsorship deal.

Phelps, however, has encountered and confounded similar unforeseen challenges before. For example, he continued swimming in Beijing in 2008 even though his goggles were getting foggy; this compelled his vision during swimming.
