With 28 Olympic medals in his kitty, Michael Phelps has awed and inspired many. One of the most decorated Olympians himself has a widespread love for many other sports, ranging from Golf, Baseball, and Lacrosse. When it comes to basketball, interestingly, Phelps had said that basketball players might become good at swimming since both require a lot of endurance. Now, women’s basketball sensation Caitlin Clarke has come forward hailing Phelps, but in a different manner.

While Caitlin Clark, an NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer, is recently in the news for her dazzling performance at the national championship. She has been a major force in her team, overpowering the LSU Tigers. After the win, she along with her teammates took part in a fun activity of sharing their screensavers where her regard for Michael Phelps was showcased.

In the post shared on X by NCAA March Madness, Caitlin Clark revealed that her phone screensaver has Michael Phelps going head-to-head with Chad Le Clos. Seeing that Michael Phelps himself re-shared it writing, “Honored!! This is so cool!!”

This appears as another interesting crossover between basketball and swimming after there was a fun faceoff between Shaquille O’Neal and Michael Phelps some time back. It was a part of Shaq’s reality show, ‘Shaq vs.’ where he used to take on other top athletes of different sports. To everyone’s surprise, Shaq defeated Phelps in the swimming race. With Clark’s latest post, that memory might have resurfaced as the fans flooded social media with comments.

There was an internet rush when the most illustrious competitive swimmer of all time, augmented the 3x USA basketball gold medalist’s sweet gesture and shared it with the world. One fan wrote seeing the exchange between different sports worlds:
