Bryan Jackson, who is a father of two children, has reportedly been missing after jumping off a 27ft boat for a swim in Lake Michigan. Authorities claim that the Nike trainer jumped for a swim around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. An extensive search operation was carried out by the U.S. Coast Guard, Chicago Police boats, and Chicago Fire Department divers in an attempt to locate Jackson. What initially started as a rescue operation has been now shifted to a recovery mission, according to authorities.

According to a Meaww report, Jackson’s girlfriend Sarah Virani said,?“But anyone that knows Bryan knows that he does not ever get in the water, it’s not his character.” She further revealed that despite it being 105 degrees outside, Jackson would still not get into the water. This claim was supported by one of Jackson’s cousins, Steve Taylor Jr. who also emphasized that Jackson never usually gets in the water. Meanwhile, Tanya Lozano-Washington, who is Jackson’s children’s mother, expressed her disappointment with the search and rescue operation.

She said,?“They’re calling it no longer a rescue. They’re calling it a recovery. That’s unfair; we haven’t even been looking for this man for 48 hours. He’s an athlete, he could very well have survived this. He could very well be somewhere, maybe even unconscious.”?As authorities continue to look for Bryan Jackson, his family remains frustrated with the lack of effort while the authorities highlight the negligence on people’s part.

Bryan Jackson’s family has maintained that there has been a lot of inconsistent information throughout the investigation. Tanya Lozano co-parents with Jackson, further said that she wants the authorities to be diligent in their search and not treat this as a hopeless case. She also questioned why nobody was looking for evidence on the boat. Lozano Washington further claimed that all authorized personnel seem to be relaxed and not care about a father of two children.

Whereas, executive director of the Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project Dave Benjamin said, “A better message would be – entering the water may cause serious injury or death that should be replacing ‘swim at your own risk’ again because people are not swimming in the water, they are wading, or they don’t know the risk of water or both.”?The family who are in grief still seeks answers to what exactly has happened to the master trainer.
