The Olympic swimming participation roster in Tokyo in 2021 wasn’t in the confusion of Hali Flickinger’s chance of earning a medal. The reason was her dedication to the events. Before 2019, the 5’5” swimmer had felt a need to push extra hard in the pools for her height. So to change the scenario, Flickinger went to a full body transformation to achieve the strength of punching her shoulders in the pool more. That resulted in the 29-year-old swimmer’s double victory in the Olympic events in Tokyo. However, that showdown of grit has ended recently.

Through an IG post, Hali Flickinger informed about her retirement from the alleys of Olympic and swimming. On that beautiful note, the swimmer turned realtor made her heart out on her takings from the last few years.

For the last few months, the retirement chance was on the cards. Finally, when the Olympic season was already rolling, Hali Flickinger ended the curiosity by announcing her retirement from swimming.

In a detailed IG post, the former world champion could only mention her latest interest in the realtor job in Arizona. However, Maria River Red took the hard job of postulating the former Georgia swimming champion’s earnings in medals on X.

On that estimate, the caption read, “Well, Hali finally said in words on IG that her swimming career is over. Congratulations, Hali, on an incredible career!” mentioning Hali’s two Olympic bronze medals, two gold and two silver in the FINA World Championship and three gold medals for University of Georgia team in the NCAA. That flicked the ostentatious days of swimming the athlete had enjoyed in the pools.

However, Hali Flickinger wasn’t on the competitive swimming roster for quite a time. The last time she participated in one was on the occasion of the 2023 US Nationals in Indianapolis. Rather, the butterfly pro was on her new hat as a realtor agent in Arizona. That also made her quite absent in the classes of Bob Bowman at ASU. However, Hali didn’t miss her swimming stint in the way as her solace came in “helping families find their home here to the sunny valley”. That was the comeback the swimmer always performed in the way.

If the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games saw Hali’s one side of the comeback, the later days on the trot as well. Before getting into the FINA World Championship in 2022, she took an off from the pool to concentrate on her realtor job.

That was the preliminaries of getting into the profession. That was also the first time the former NCAA SC champion was absent from swimming for other reasons. But that couldn’t wither her chance of not being involved in an Olympic tussle again. Hali herself cleared that she was very much into the 2024 Olympic trials preparation.
