Swimming Career

Adam Peaty is a born swimmer. Yes, you better believe it in the first read before we stun you with a lesser-known fairytale of a wonder kid belonging to Staffordshire, a small West Midlands county. The 1994-born had to overcome his acute fear of water bodies to start off his remarkable swimming endeavor at the age of 4. The toddler used to be afraid of sharks while jumping in the pools. However, eventually, his rare species of talent started to take over and capture the attention of former Olympic swimmer Melanie Marshall. At the age of 17, the sight of awe-inspiring swimmer Craig Benson during the London Olympics 2012, the teen athlete made up his mind about pursuing swimming professionally. And the rest is a well-documented history.

Now, at the age of 29, Peaty has smashed every breaststroke sprint record to be widely regarded as the best-ever men’s breaststroke swimmer. To give a brief glimpse of his quality, he has 31 gold, six silver, and two bronze medals across the four international competitions so far, making it an extraordinary medal haul.

However, without going into any further details of his open-book glory, let’s quickly judge where he stands in comparison to his arch-competitors in terms of physical attributes.

While it’s pretty common sense that a swimmer can’t always have a perfect body, they have a body type. One of the most frequently seen physical features is their distinct height. A good average height is what defines the outer parameter of excellence of a series of elite international male swimmers. For reference, Nathan Adrian scores a 6 feet 6 inches mark (1.98m) in height, and Kliment Kolesnikov and Michael Andrew both possess pretty much the same height of about 6 feet 5 inches (1.96m) to 6 foot 6 inches (1.98m)in height. In that respect, Peaty (1.91 m) seems a bit shorter, but still, it’s pretty decent to keep him in the picture.

in terms of body mass, the average stands at approximately 80-85 kg (176-187 lbs) while Peaty has a weight of 95 kg (209 lbs) which is on a bit heavier side.

However, apart from all the strategic analysis, we only intend to see the world-class wrestler achieve his deserved feet in Paris.
