America’s pride Michael Phelps appeared in an NBA game with a whole new avatar. He sat in the NBA’s celeb row and was enjoying his moment until Phoenix Suns’ mascot approached to hail the swimming legend. The gorilla was quick to get the Baltimore star’s attention and did a small meet and greet, leaving Michael grinning from ear to ear. His presence at the NBA game caught the eye of the fans that engaged them in more ways than one. However, this one fan could not help but make glaring parallels with an NFL star.
Since his retirement in 2016, the Baltimore Bullet has, time and again, shown a vested interest in various sports. While golfing has been his go-to sport, he occasionally likes to spend his late evening hours gracing his presence at the basketball courts.

The Olympian swimmer attended the Phoenix Suns vs Minnesota Timberwolves game. In fact, he was enjoying the match and witnessed the 107-100 defeat of the Wolves. However, the swimmer soon held the limelight on himself after the Suns’ mascot attended to him.

Today the NBA’s official Instagram page shared the video featuring the Flying Fish with the gorilla. “The Suns Gorilla welcomes?@m_phelps00 to tonight?s action!”, read the caption. And as the video proceeded, Phelps was seen in his grown beard and hair tied in a pigtail. After the mascot approached, Phelps stood up and waved his hands to the audience and received a prized jersey from the gorilla.

Since the release of the video, fans flocked over to the comments section with their unique reactions. This one fan, however, made a startling revelation about his look. Seeing the legend in his full-grown beard and long hair tied into a pigtail, a fan was reminded of a star NFL quarterback.
This fan couldn’t resist the comparison
While one user conveniently confused the Flying Fish with the Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, others thought he looked more like Zava. Although this instance of striking a comparison between Phelps and Rodgers is not the first time that has happened. The fan’s exact words were “aaron rodgers 2.0.” This reaction alone garnered 18 likes in total.
