At the World Aquatic Championships, Curzan not only earned the tag of Best Female Swimmer, but she also achieved a backstroke “treble.” She secured gold medals in the 50m, 100m, and 200m backstroke events. This remarkable feat placed her in elite company, as only the second woman in history, to achieve such a clean sweep in backstroke. Australian Kaylee McKeown achieved it at the previous year’s World Championships.
