Seven-time Olympic gold medalist,?Katie Ledecky, has set the ultimate standards for the?swimming?community. Her accolades as a female swimmer are regarded as the?best in the field. Moreover, the star is prioritizing the soon-approaching trials of the 2024 Paris Olympics and World Championships. The latter is to be held in July. However, it is questionable whether we?ll see her at the ongoing TYR Pro Swim Series event any longer, since, she recently drew out at Westmont, owing to health concerns.

In a recent Instagram post, Ledecky broke the news to her fans while iterating her plans for the upcoming months. She claimed that she won?t make it to Westmont this week after feeling quite unwell the past few days. Yet, the icon has set her vision on her next goal already, as she remains hopeful for the future.?

Per the Instagram update posted hours ago, the 26-year-old star athlete pointed out the timeline for the impending World trials before announcing her withdrawal from the meet.??11 Weeks out from World Championship Trials! ? I won?t be making the trip to the Westmont #TYRProSeries meet this week after being a bit under the weather the last week,??Ledecky declared.?

The World Championship is her forte and her nineteen gold medals are its proof. Thus, the sensation intends to sit back home and train to her full potential ahead of the event. She added, ?staying home to train and get 100%. I?m excited about the opportunities ahead over the next few months ?????????Explicitly picking her priorities, the champion has asserted her strategic dedication to the sport.?

The Pro Series Meet kickstarted last month, with Westmont being the third of four stops of the 2023 event. Ledecky won her first race of the year at the Knoxville stop, timing up at 1 minute and 55.47 seconds. Moreover, she was enlisted in five categories of the event, as the top athlete in the 400 and 800 free. She was also among the top athletes in Fort Lauderdale, the second stop of the Pro Series, winning two races and runner-ups. The finals were set for May 17-20, but unfortunately, we won?t be witnessing the champion conquering any more races at the event. This is the third time the swimmer is taking out from notable races.?

Katie Ledecky did not compete in the 200m free at the 2022 World Championships

As reported by USA Swimming, an updated roster did not feature Ledecky?s name in the 200m freestyle event of the 2022 World Championships. It was later found that she withdrew from the event because its?semi-finals date clashed?with the 1500 free finals. Another instance of her withdrawal from the 200m free was at the 2019 World Aquatics.?

The 6-foot-tall swimming idol fell sick with a stomach virus ahead of the race, per sources. However, she managed to ace the 800m event despite being unwell.
