In the past few years, surfing‘s popularity has engulfed people of all ages. Besides adults and oldies, the sport has also influenced six-year-old Tyler Purcell. Sharing a mutual love for the ocean, Tyler’s father, Zak taught him surfing when he was just 18 months old. Since then, the young one has been unstoppable. Recently, Tyler was invited to Emmy Award-winning host, Steve Harvey’s show, Steve TV Show. Nevertheless, the six-year-old made Harvey experience a hilarious time while showing him some tricks.

On May 6, Steve Harvey’s Facebook page shared a short clip of his interaction with Tyler Purcell. The host approached the small surfer in that interview to teach him surfing lingos and techniques. Amusingly, while learning a few unknown aspects about surfing, the six-year-old subtly mocked the host.

What did the surfing boy teach Steve Harvey?

Among the many surf lingos, Tyler taught Harvey about barrels first. The 66-year-old host was quick to understand that the lingo meant huge curvy waves. Next, the six-year-old mentioned “shaka” hearing which Harvey began to imitate a paddling out motion hilariously. Seeing him, Tyler mocked the host, “That’s not how you do it.” Harvey added a fun comment on his remark saying, “That’s how I do it.” He explained to the little one that he would be more stressed out while paddling out as compared to him.

Next, the duo moved to a surfboard section where Harvey asked Tyler to teach him some surfing moves. At first, the boy asked Harvey to lie down on the surfboard. Doing this, Harvey comments, “God damn it, boy”. The little surfer instructed the host to join his legs and look back to pretend as if a wave was approaching him. Looking back, Harvey began to paddle in a hilarious way leaving the audience tickled.

Lastly, the boy asked the host to slowly get up on the unstable surfing board. With little courage, the 66-year-old host managed to get up with one knee on the surfboard. At the end of the hilarious session, Harvey disclosed to the budding surfer that the surfing brand, Surfing Station has gifted him a brand new customized surfboard to cheer his passion for the sport.

Nevertheless, this is not the first brand to gift Tyler with a surfboard. His merit as a surfer has provided him with more benefits previously.

Surfing is Tyler Purcell’s most loved activity in the world. At 18 months old, the littler surfer would sit on his father’s surfboard and develop an idea about surfing. By 3, Tyler began surfing on his own board.

Nevertheless, the Moku Surf shop has been instrumental in the six-year-olds surf journey. It made him one of the youngest sponsored surfers in the world. The shop sponsors budding surfers like Tyler with entry fees for surfing participation in events, apparel, and surfboards. Moreover, practicing his surfing passion, Tyler spends a lot of time at Waikiki Beach. Nevertheless, his father ensures safety and fun for Tyler whenever he surfs.
