The 11-time World Surf League champion, Kelly Slater is heading towards the next challenge. The WSL granted him a wildcard for the 2023-24 season, making him eligible for the tour events. In his recent Instagram story, he met with gratitude from the 3X World Surfing Champion, Gabriel Medina. Medina gifted him a Fluminese jersey as a Brazilian gesture of love and respect.

This came after Brazil’s Fluminense defeated Boca Juniors 2-1 in the Copa Libertadores for the maiden time. Copa Libertadores is the highest level of competition in South American club soccer. It was an exchange of culture when the Americans and Brazilians crossed paths on their respective adventure.

It is the largest wave pool anywhere in the world, featuring the world’s longest ride, biggest barrel, and largest man-made wave pool. The facility is expected to be completed by December 2023.
