Athletes aren’t new to big partnerships. Deals worth millions have often bagged global superstars and surfers aren’t devoid of such opportunities either. With that in mind, many watch brands have also designed numerous new models to best suit the surfers’ needs. Kelly Slater’s partnership with Breitling is still one of the biggest deals in the surfing world.
In the latest innovation, popular watchmaker Zenith has created a micro-blasted titanium watch that aims to provide surfers with all the information they’d need as they ride the waves. Zenith has paired up with the media platform Time+Tide to bring the new surfing watch with a gradient color dial. The Night Surfer was incredibly well-received and the Defy Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer El Primero sports a look good enough that’ll also turn a few heads. This is the first-ever Skyline to be produced in titanium. Its lightweight helps to make the watch feel more usable in daily life, despite being slightly thicker than the original Night Surfer.
Surfers like Caroline Marks’ deal with Freestyle or Griffin Colapinto’s partnership with Quicksilver have become common news among surfer connoisseurs. Many of these watches offer a lot of things that have the potential to become the deciding factor between life and death. With features like GPS and weather forecasts, these watches can make things a lot less risky for the surfing pros.
With luminous material on the inside, the Defy Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer El Primero can handle both sides of the spectrum: it provides utility while looking savvy. Zenith has also designed a plethora of straps for the new watch that’ll make sure it doesn’t look drab after the first few weeks.
