It seems like all eyes in the world are currently on Sarah Brady and Jonah Hill. A professional surfer, Brady shocked the world after she went public with some shocking allegations against the popular actor. The couple got together in 2021 after they met while surfing. Since then, Brady was largely silent about their relationship, rarely sharing updates or sneak peeks. Jonah, however, did post a photo on Instagram publicly acknowledging his relationship with the surfer and activist.

However, the couple split in 2022, and more than a year after their separation, Brady decided to make the world aware of what, according to her side of the story, was going on between her and Hill. The screenshots of chats and the facts that she has shared on her social media have garnered widespread attention. Jeff Guenther, a licensed professional counselor from Portland, Oregon, who has a huge following on social media, has also given his opinion on the situation.

Lately, terms such as “boundaries” have attained rampant acclaim in the world of therapy and mental wellness. Coincidentally, this is what led to the contention between Sarah Brady and Jonah Hill. Brady shared some messages from Jonah, in which he attempted to set some boundaries with Brady. These messages have been called into question by many, leading everyone to wonder: what do healthy boundaries look like?

Jeff Guenther, who goes on social media by @therapyjeff, has attempted to answer this question. His opinion was shared by Sarah Brady on her Instagram stories. This is what he says, “…a boundary is a healthy limit a person sets for themselves to protect their well-being and integrity. It is a rule or a guideline that one creates to identify reasonable safe and permissible ways for others to behave towards them…” According to him, a boundary should be only used to ensure one’s emotional safety, and never be used as a weapon to control or limit the other person.

The counselor further said, “A healthier and less manipulative approach might be… to express how Sarah’s actions make him feel without using ultimatums about what she should or should not do.” Sarah Brady was grateful for the support she received from Jeff, and wrote in her stories, “Wow my fav (ethical) therapist explained my past predicament perfectly @therapyjeff thank you for understanding and educating”. Jonah Hill is yet to come forward with his version of the story.

The surfing love story that did not prosper

Reports suggest that their common interest in surfing is what led Jonah Hill and Sarah Brady to get closer before they finally decided to officially date in 2021. Sadly, surfing is also what apparently led to the downfall of their relationship. Sarah Brady claims that as a professional surfer, she felt restricted by the “misogynist” mindset that her then-partner, Jonah Hill, revealed to her.

After their relationship got over, Hill began dating Olivia Millar, and together, they had their first child who was born on June 1, 2023. Brady has also come forward to claim that the only reason she delayed revealing her side of the story was that she did not want Millar or the baby to suffer because of her viewpoint. Jonah and Olivia have not given any comment on the situation.
