Florence is the only Hawaiian surfer in a long time to win two consecutive world titles on the 2016 World Surf League and 2017 World Surf League Men’s Championship Tour. The self-titled “prisoner of danger” shared a horrific yet mesmerizing video of his surfing that collected amazing reactions from fans.

In his recent YouTube video, the Hawaiian-born surfed with his brother Nathan and tour strongman Zeke Lau.
He titled his video ‘Someone Has To Go’, John’s video attracted several reactions from his fans. They commented, “I can’t lie, seeing some the of the best surfers on Earth get absolutely dealt with is oddly satisfying”

John grew up in Banzai Pipeline at an ocean-side house. His mother, Alexandra Florence was a surfer herself. She made John his first ride on a surfboard when he was merely six-month-old. By the age of five, he began on his own.
