11-time world champion surfer Kelly Slater spent almost thirty years competing at the top surfing championships and is regarded as the greatest of all time. However, his wildcard entry on the 2023 WSL Championship Tour didn’t benefit him much long after a low point score that pulled his name off the road to Paris.
Away from surfing commitments, Slater is a father to Taylor Slater-Kelleher, 28, who is a well-known painter and photographer. Now, 28 years later, the surf maestro has revealed he’s going to don his fatherhood hat for the second time. On Tuesday, March 19, Slater’s longtime partner of 16 years, Kalani Miller, shared the news of her pregnancy in a shared Instagram reel. In the black-and-white music video with Ben Harper’s song “The Three of Us,” the couple could be seen strolling around the Hawaiian beaches, getting cozy while Slater’s hands protectively held Kalani’s belly.

Slater, fifty-two, and Kalani, thirty-six, are expecting their first child together. The couple began dating in 2006. Miller is a former bikini model and cofounded a swimwear company, MIKOH, with her sister. In an interview with Graham Bensinger in 2019, Miller candidly spoke about the future of her relationship with Slater, including marriage and two or three children calling Slater her “ride or die.”
Kelly Slater had his first child with Tamara Michelle, who gave birth to Taylor at Cocoa Beach, Florida, Slater’s hometown and the place where she was raised.
