“It’s Getting Bigger and Bigger and Bigger”: Pro Surfer, Involved in Hectic Rescue at Pipeline, Faces Massive River Break That Destroyed a Beach

Pro surfer Jamie O’Brien often stays in the limelight for his fearless approach to big waves. From the heroic rescue of the bodyboarder at the pipeline in 2016, to confronting the destructive force of nature, O’Brien’s journey as a surfer has been filled with thrilling experiences. However, the YouTube sensation faced a new challenge that tested his expertise like never before. The free-surfer recently tried his hands at the major river break that destroyed a beach recently at Waimea Bay, Oahu. 

The recent video of the surfing icon has created a buzz all across the community as he confronted major climate change. Let’s take a closer look at Jamie O’Brien’s incredible encounter.

Jamie O’Brien faced a new challenge

On Oahu’s North Shore, a large river burst and drove through Waimea Bay. The famous beach, which formerly attracted both surfers and visitors, was destroyed by the river break’s powerful force. The break ended up creating a massive junction at the mouth of the shore due to the intense flow of water. However, the YouTube star didn’t shy away from the challenge and recently took on a unique surfing experience in the aftermath of a natural disaster.

O’Brien saw it as an opportunity for a different kind of adventure. Maintaining balance over the massive river break was not going to be an easy job, even for an experienced surfer like him. O’Brien described the river break as “getting bigger and bigger and bigger” and mentioned that it was challenging to navigate due to its unpredictable nature.

Known for his daring efforts O’Brien was seen easily maintaining his balance and riding the waves with perfection. His exceptional command over the board amazed the audience.
