At 16, when Williams was skateboarding his way back home, he encountered a life-threatening car accident that changed his life forever. The surfer had just finished school near the month of September and was supposed to start college in two days. Instead, he was immediately rushed to the Royal Liverpool Hospital where he entered a coma for several weeks. The surfer dislocated his hips, got a head injury, broke his femur, and shattered his pelvis. Moreover, his left limb had been gravely infected, which made it unavoidable for doctors to remove it.

Although he accepted that he had lost a limb, the surfer did not reject the idea of surfing. After spending weeks at the hospital, Williams returned home during Christmas. However, he still had a wound at the back of his head which did not let him go back to the ocean and surf. He frequently asked the doctor when would he be able to resume surfing. After immense waiting, eventually, doctors gave him the green light.

The moment Williams started surfing, he felt alive. With the aim to one day make it to the Olympics, if Parasurfing ever became a part of the Games, he started working harder. By 2018, he had won the gold medal at the English Adaptive Championships.

Most recently, he represented Wales at the International Surfing Association World Adaptive Championships in California. While surfing in 2018, Williams discovered Adventure Parc Snowdonia in Conwy. It was an event for surfers who overcame several personal losses. He is presently organizing the event which is set to take place from July 1 to 2.
