In his latest vlog, O’Brien carried out his surfing adventure at none other than legend Kelly Slater’s famous Surfing Ranch. 

On June 13, Jamie O’Brien took to his Instagram to share his lively surfing adventure at Kelly Slater’s 20-acre surfing amusement park in Lemoore, California. Taking on the artificial waves, O’Brien had the time of his life.

Jamie O’Brien’s vlog titled, “I Hacked Kelly Slater’s Wave Pool!” featured the surfer holding his surfboard and telling the camera, “We’re gonna try and do like, a little Kelly Slater wave pool hack at the surf ranch. It’s crazy I know. We’re gonna get into the control room” 

As the video proceeded, Jamie took on the artificial waves on a surfboard. There were moments when he smoothly surfed in the barreling waves and did a quick jump while surfing. However, there were also moments when he lost his balance while taking on the waves. O’Brien took it all in his stride. 

The surfer also performed a mind-boggling trick in the waves. While surfing, he sat on his board and did a quick twist performing the trick not once but several times in the video, indicating that he is one of the finest surfers in the industry.

Nevertheless, it was iconic to see a legendary surfer taking on the waves at another legendary surfer’s place. Kelly Slater’s state-of-the-art surfing ranch has been visited by other sporting personalities like Shaun White and Tony Hawk. Although it is not the first man-made artificial pool, it is a perfectly engineered one.

Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch is located amidst the farmland of the state’s Central Valley. The powerful wave park has a length of 2100ft and a width of 350ft. It has a hydrofoil that moves back and forth, changing the wave’s size and shape. 

The height of the waves goes about 6-8 feet. It allows the surfer an average time of 45-60 seconds to complete one ride on the wave. Slater used a great part of his wealth to build this water park. It cost an estimated $30 million. Also, its visitors need to pay $10,000 for an hour-long surf session at the ranch.
