Surfing is all about adventure, adrenaline, and exhilaration, and so is Jamie O’Brien. The man is on an unstoppable journey to experience all the different things that surfing has to offer. O’Brien seems to be the ultimate vagabond of surfing. He keeps on hopping from one place to another, always searching for interesting things that will strike his fancy.

When Jamie O’Brien won the Pipeline Masters in the year 2004, he became one of the youngest people ever to win the competition. That win took his name down to the annals of surfing history. In spite of his prowess, O’Brien, however, has pivoted to become a content creator. The surfer, who has a massive fan base on social media, now posts entertaining videos related to surfing.

O’Brien is always finding new ways to ensure that his fans are enthralled with his antics. The man has gone far and wide in search of new adventures, riding waves all across the world. He has visited several wave pools to test them out and to help his audience in finding the next cool spot in surfing. Recently, he posted another fun video on his Facebook profile, with the caption, “GNARLIEST FERRY WAVE EVER!!!!!”.

This time, O’Brien and his companions went to catch some ferry waves. He revealed a shot of the location, which was a road on the side of the ocean. A big ferry could be seen passing through the area. O’Brien, upon seeing the ferry, exclaimed, “Check out how big this ferry is, and it throws off an epic little left right here.” The professional surfer and producer of surf films, he was psyched to see the waves in action, ready to jump into the water and ride them. Finally, he started getting ready for this surfing experience.

As O’Brien stood by his van, ready to change into his wetsuit, he revealed, “I have not done this in forever.” Then, he donned his “psych suit”, and went down to the water with his companion, Ben Gravy. They started to paddle out in the water. They paddled up to a ferry that was passing through, and Jamie O’Brien’s excited shouts could be heard on top of the music. Then, the clip showed him riding the waves like the pro he is. This is not the first time that O’Brien has gone on an insane adventure.

O’Brien catches the biggest wave of his life

Oahu, Hawaii, produces some of the largest waves that the ocean has to offer. This is the reason why surfers from all across the world flock to the North Shore of Hawaii to catch some gigantic waves. Ironically, O’Brien grew up in this area, next to some of the biggest waves known to man. Hence, it is not a surprise that he chose surfing as his calling. The 39-year-old caught the biggest wave of his life right in his backyard.

While surfing at the North Shore, O’Brien shared a video of him riding the most massive wave, and he also revealed he was scared while riding it. The wave, from the looks of it, was around 20-30 ft. tall. O’Brien has placed first in many elite surfing competitions and these wins have ensured that he is considered to be a formidable force to be reckoned with. However, for all his capability, riding a mammoth wave like that still scared him.

This just goes to show that one can never take the ocean for granted. Jamie O’Brien doesn’t seem to be a person to do that, but he is definitely on a mission to enjoy all the exciting bounties of the sea.
