Days before, pro surfer Nathan Florence gave out a visual in the Vans Pipe Master surfing championship, jumping into the water, and avoiding a gigantic wave. However, in the Pipe Master, big waves are not so overpowering as to send a shiver down the spines of the surfing legends. But the big wave challenges are there to cater to the ultimate haunting. And the recent timeline obviates the perfect season for those enormous swells. Meanwhile, Da Hui rises to the occasion.
The swanky yet terrorizing surfing shootout is already on the show. On Thursday, the championship sent a tremor with a concussion on the veteran Kai Lenny, albeit with a saving grace.

For Kai Lenny, the big wave challenges are not so rare to face as the 31-year-old Hawaiian has been seeing the big mornings. But for him, December 4 was the ultimate battle royale when the surfer appeared in the SUP division under the flagship Da Hui Backdoor Shootout. However, it was the first occurrence of Lenny with a helmet with his team logo of Red Bull. Ultimately, that helmet stole the show as, after facing a life-threatening situation, Lenny passed his good words on the new headgear. The bedridden surfing pro penned on his IG post, “First time wearing a helmet at Pipeline and it may have saved my life.”

In the same post, Lenny confirmed that he had a minor concussion and some blood dripping from one of his ears. But that was fine for the Red Bull surfing team member, hoping for a speedy convalescence. However, the news hit his fans in their biggest surprise.

The communities come with folded hands
Surfing legend John John Florence and his brother were present at that surfing meet. So after happening upon the news, the WSL champion posted his obvious message in that IG narration, “Glad you’re ok”. Soon after, Nathan Florence followed his elder sibling by adding, “Heal up boss!”. Brewing on that healing chance, another IG, valleyislekombucha flexed energetically “Back in the water in a week!” with an ultimate boss emoji. That was something Kai Lenny expected as the surfer was elated on his returning chance.

But, in this kerfuffle, the helmet worn by Lenny remained the ultimate serendipity. After being pronounced by the surfer, his fans also shared the same sentiment. The Australian surfer, Jack Robinson, tuned in observance, “The helmet”. In the same manner, Mexican big wave surfer Coco Nogales also added, “Wow heavy Kai happy you were wearing a helmet am glad you’re safe brother”. The surfing world seems to take helmet use seriously.
