In the past few years, surfing has extended its reach to people with different abilities. Besides regular surfers, it also brings a whole new experience for adaptive surfers. Although the idea of balancing oneself on notorious waves might be overwhelming, technology has made it a safe phenomenon for adaptive surfers. Recently, an inspiring video of a teenager surfing, despite suffering from cerebral palsy, reiterated the fact that anybody can take on the sport.

On June 4, the Facebook page, Love This, shared a heartwarming video of a boy learning to surf in his wheelchair. His dedication to repeatedly moving on the water and learning the sport was supremely commendable.

The Facebook video featured the teenager riding on a surfboard seamlessly. His surfboard was tied to his wheelchair that moved ahead using the WaveJet technology. As the video began, the surfer on his specially designed wheelchair and surfboard was seen assisted by a group of trainers. One of them gave a gentle push to his surfboard, that made his surfboard move ahead in the water. The teenager sitting on the surfboard’s wheelchair was overjoyed with the miraculous surfing experience. As he moved ahead in the water, he looked happier and gave a trainer by his side a fist bump.

The adaptive surfer could not hold his excitement and began screaming with joy while going for another round of practice. During the second round, he looked elated about making it on the waves again. Nevertheless, as he reached the shore, he was cheered by the bunch of trainers who made sure he had an uninterrupted process.
