The Honolulu native sat down for an interview with Team USA’s Woman to Woman special on their YouTube channel. The athlete opened up about surfing and especially the women that she has inspired lately. When asked what she had to share about the sisterhood and the women in surfing, the five-time world champion stated, “I was one of the ones in the lineup as a woman, and now when I go to any of my favorite spots at home, there’s a handful of women or young girls.” Moore surely has blazed the trail in women’s surfing, and she has been an absolute treat to watch for her fans.

The surfer also added that she is truly inspired by her peers and the strong women that she encounters every day. The Olympic gold medalist also gave advice to the athletes who don’t have access to surfing and said that “there is no such thing as a perfect mold” and they should not put much pressure on themselves and have fun with things that are out of their comfort zone.
