Surfing has given innumerable iconic moments to its fans. Professional surfers have made the audience jump out of their seats. While the previous years saw some nail-biting encounters, there were also some light-hearted moments that delighted fans. A similar moment was observed in August that made the day of both surfing fans and animal lovers.

The beachgoers at Fistral beach witnessed one of the craziest moments of their life when a four-legged furry individual got on the surfboard.

A black Labrador aced the waves on a beach in the UK

On a bright sunny morning at the Cornish beach, the people of Fistral saw something incredible. The surfing community was delighted to see a dog enjoying the waves of the ocean. According to a report by Cornwall live, a black labrador was seen surfing on the board. 

The beachgoers were stunned to see an innocent creature pulling off something which most people struggle to master. The beach was jampacked with visitors and surfers, but no one could believe what they were witnessing. The black Labrador gracefully slid on the waves and was looking very comfortable.

The video shared by a local got huge limelight across the country. The owner of the video said of the sight: “Just a dog surfing like a pro on Fistral today. He was absolutely loving surfing with his dad.” However, this wasn’t the only instance in August when a dog got on the surfboard. Fans also saw a surfing championship of dogs that month

A World Dog Surfing Championship was organised on the 6th of August. The Pacifica State Beach in Pacifica, California, became the hosting arena for this unique contest. Hundreds of dog lovers and dozens of dogs participated in the championship and made it a big success.

The dogs were divided into three categories based on their size – small, medium, and huge-very large. Dogs were judged on multiple factors, including the length of the ride and technique. The event was successful and grabbed media attention around the globe. It would be appropriate to say that the sport of surfing is not anymore exclusive to humans.
