Kelly Slater still makes waves among his fans. At the age of 52 years, the pro surfing legend shows why he is among the brightest stars ever piercing through the gigantic waves. In April this year, he announced his retirement from professional competitive surfing. He failed to cut into the mid-season lineup, and the failure made him make such a decision. However, later he earned a wildcard entry. So a retirement from the surfing sport is not in his book yet. Also, with that, he has not stopped firming his friendship while surfing through the waves.
In January this year, Kelly Slater posed with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. with his surfing board. The duo met at Pua’ena Point Beach, where Matahi Drollet and Shayden Pacaro joined them in the water to continue surfing. The day ended well for each one as the 11-time World Surfing League champion invested his time to sharpen everyone’s skill in the water. Now, this time, Kelly has received another big name with him in the water.
Kelly Slater has had a memorable experience with Prince Harry. Last year, he mingled with the Duke of Sussex in the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. The duo was seen sharing warmth while Teahupo’o legend Raimana van Bastolaer and Garry Lopez, the pipe master and yoga guru, stood the eye witness. Since then, no such news had come of their meeting until recently.

On October 16, Raimana shared a snippet on his Instagram handle, displaying Prince Harry surfing in a man-made facility. However, it was Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch in Lemoore, California, and he was also present, witnessing the Prince’s surfing in the clear water. He seemed to be impressed as the Duke of Sussex showcased his mastery of the surfboard.

In the clip, Prince Harry is all ears as Van Bastolaer, serving as the coach at Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch, gives him the rundown. After Harry smoothly dodges a wave and steadies himself on the board, Bastolaer couldn’t hold back his excitement, shouting, “You’re the best! Love you, brother!” Talk about some serious surf-side bromance!

Bastolaer even took it to social media, captioning the post, “In Tahiti, we still call you Prince Harry, but at Surf Ranch, it’s my Brother.” And let’s be real, Prince Harry’s probably cool with that. After all, he’s fully embraced the “California lifestyle” he and Meghan promised when they settled into their new Montecito digs. But Harry’s not the only famous face carving up waves at Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch recently… It seems like it’s becoming a magnet for surf-loving celebs!
Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch in California comes in the news for several reasons
Being the ambassador, Kelly Slater has spent a whopping 44 years of his lifetime in the surfing sport. In this vast career, he has invested 32 years in several championship tours. That backs his exceptional knowledge of water sports and all the peripherals coming with it. He has also made bonds while promoting himself as the last man standing in the sport. That status has earned him a lot of visitors at his Californian Surf Ranch. On the other day, the Ranch came to the headlines while a surf instructor saved a child, teaching him the preliminary stages of surfing.

While remaining on the surfboard, the young aspirant was knocked off by another surfer approaching side by side. But the instructor saved the child at the last moment, keeping him away from the deep water. However, testing the surfing prowess in Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch also caught Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former POTUS Donald Trump. She seemed to enjoy the joyride piercing the waves under the eyes of Raimana Van Bastolaer. She thanked the team helping her in the water and termed Bastolaer ‘incomparable.’ And with Prince Harry now adding his name to the roster, it’s clear that Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch is more than just a surf spot—it’s where different worlds come together, one wave at a time.
