With 20 career medals in World Athletic Championships, Allyson Felix is the most decorated athlete now. Allyson is also known for breaking the Jamaican legend Usain Bolt’s record by winning one more medal than him in 2019 when she pocketed her 12th Gold Medal.

Allyson was diagnosed at 32 weeks pregnant with severe preeclampsia, it’s a fatal blood pressure complication for both the mother and child. This prompted her retirement back in 2022 when the sprinter decided that she wanted to be an athlete and a mother. Now, the elite athlete is engaged in business, and recently launched the ‘Athleta X Allyson Felix Collection’. Allyson Felix is also active on social media and often shares her whereabouts. She recently shared a video on Instagram story opening up about things with the School Of Greatness Podcast.

The awe-inspiring story of Allyson Felix overcoming her adversity

Allyson Felix interviewed with the School of Greatness Podcast opening about breaking the Olympic records despite her adversity. When Lewis Howes asks the Olympian that is there any time when the athlete did not feel ready, Allyson responds –

There were definitely times. I remember in 2016 when I was at the Olympics in Rio, I got hurt right before that Olympics. Like, two months before the Olympic trials. And training was going so well up until that point. And then I had this horrible ankle injury. I tore all these ligaments in my ankle, I couldn’t run, I couldn’t even walk. I was literally in the pool and on the bike and all this stuff. That time I was like, the work isn’t all there.”

Allyson demonstrates her ankle injury and regardless of that, she secured the second position in the 400 meters during Rio Olympics. Nevertheless, the athlete was disappointed with her performance.

Allyson Felix couldn’t hide her disappointment

Allyson Felix put it all into what she had to give her best in the Rio Olympics despite her ankle injury. But still, she was disappointed with her performance over not making it for the gold. It was a historic race when Shaunae Miller dives across the finish line and secured the Gold medal. Nevertheless, Felix has been known as one of the great legends of sprinting for many
eminent achievements.

The American track and field athlete came out of her retirement once, to help the USA advance in World Championships. But upsetting for fans Allyson has announced that she will not be a part of the Paris Olympics in 2024.
