Imagine a skier who is driven by a burning passion for the slopes and who is hurtling down the mountain while their veins are pumped with adrenaline. The skier’s trajectory then unexpectedly intersects with a strategically placed airbag, a platform for athletes to practice their gravity-defying jumps, as if by fate. And who is present to witness this upcoming spectacle? None other than snowboarding’s most recognizable athlete, Shaun White, a living legend.
With his unruly mane of fiery red hair and an irrepressible passion for his craft, White has carved his place in the hearts of fans worldwide. On this particular day, White found himself hiking up the mountainside, seeking a moment of tranquility amidst the flurry of his hectic schedule. What he witnessed stopped him in his tracks.

In a YouTube short video that recently resurfaced from his documentary, White was enjoying a leisurely day on the snowy slopes with his cameraman recording his every move. As he walked up the slope a skier sped down the slope like a wayward missile as the cameras rolled, capturing each moment with cruel precision. Unfortunately, the skier’s calculations were incorrect, and in a hilarious comic accident, they found themselves heading straight for a halfpipe jump practice airbag.
The impact was simultaneously stupefying and embarrassing a perfect fusion of wonder and embarrassment captured in time. As soon as the skier was flung into the airbags someone shouted, “All good?” to which the person sheepishly screamed, “yeah”. White stopped for two seconds and blurted out a laugh. Shaun White’s cameraman laughingly exclaimed, “Was that the plan?”. To which White comically replied, “Uh. Not exactly!”, He paused and said, “Kind Of”. The reply that came from the cameraman was, “I thought I was having a mediocre day”. The video was an excerpt from his new documentary, ‘The Last Run’.
