On the other hand, his partner, Nina Dobrev, has made a name for herself after her long run in the TV show Vampire Diaries as one of the main characters. Together, they make one of the cutest couples out there.
Now that White has retired from competitive snowboarding after the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, he is enjoying his retirement and traveling the world. His recent exploits have included a lot of moving around with his girlfriend Nina Dobrev, as she hops across the globe due to her career. In a recent interview, the Olympian describes his life after retirement, and how it’s going with the starlet.

During an interview with the sports YouTube channel, Sportico, the Olympic gold medalist described his relationship with Nina Dobrev and the extent to which he travels due to her, something which has helped him after retiring. Turns out, that was precisely Shaun White’s dream, to travel the world after his retirement. In the interview, he said, “I told my girlfriend like… when this is all over just like, load up the trips. Like, let’s go travel, let’s go have fun.”
When the champion snowboarder was dominating the slopes, he mostly traveled because of work or competitions. After hanging up the skis, he wanted to travel for fun instead. However, dating a popular star means accommodating their timings and shoot schedules. Talking about this factor, Shaun White said, “This is more like… ‘Hey, where do you wanna go? What do you wanna do?’ There’s no real time-frame.” It might become hectic sometimes, but one thing is for sure. Being with Ninna Dobrev has ensured that White gets to visit different corners of the world.
Revealing details about his recent itinerary, he said, “She was shooting a movie in Greece, my girlfriend’s an actor, so… I popped over…” But that was not all, the snowboarder also spent time with Dobrev’s mother in France. He said, “Her mom lives in France, so popped down to France… We just kinda ran around Europe, it was fun.” Sure does sound like a lot of fun, especially when you’re doing it with your uber-famous actress girlfriend. However, Shaun White has been known for his cross-country gestures for Nina Dobrev.

Nina Dobrev revealed the start of a pandemic relationship
Shaun White and Nina Dobrev met briefly at an award function in 2o12 but were formally introduced only in 2019. In March 2020, they sparked dating rumors when they were pictured on a bike ride together. They officially announced their relationship on social media in 2020. However, when their love truly blossomed, was during the pandemic, when they were indifferent countries. Even though they were thousands of miles apart, they spent time with one another.

One time, Shaun White did suffer the wrath of a long-distance relationship. When Nina Dobrev was shooting in Canada, and Whote was missing his other half, he started watching Vampire Diaries. Watching his love be romantically linked with others was not something White took happily. Even Dobrev said during an interview, “I don’t know how healthy that was for him!” Nonetheless, the couple has only grown closer over time. Hopefully, Shaun White will get to fulfill his dreams of traveling the world with Nina Dobrev.
