Snowboarding legend Shaun White is one of the most decorated snowboarders in America. The 3x Olympic gold medalist trained under legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk at a young age. The icon made his Olympic debut in 2006 and has since won many awards and accolades. Throughout his snowboarding career, White has had a special connection with the popular beverage company, Red Bull.

Red Bull has also partnered with Shaun in many instances. However, recently, Dietrich Mateschitz, the owner of the company, passed away. Here’s what the legendary snowboarder had to say about the unfortunate incident.
Shaun White pays his respects to Red Bull giant
The icon shared a photoshoot he did with Red Bull on his Instagram stories. In 2010, White partnered with the company right after his Vancouver Olympics win. In the series of photos, the snowboarder could be seen sporting long hair and posing next to a Red Bull aircraft.
The photos were a part of White’s trip to the Red Bull HQ in Austria. The snowboarder paid his respects and wrote, “R.I.P Dietrich,” against the picture. His partnership with Red Bull, in fact, goes a long way.
Red Bull and Shaun: Creating history
In 2009, White joined Red Bull to create a custom superpipe during winter. This pipe alone cost $500,000. It was 22 feet long with a foam pit. This was also White’s dream project that Red Bull, very generously enabled. This superpipe went on to become the legend’s experimenting ground, where he practiced new tricks and flips.

It’s safe to say that Red Bull has given White the freedom to explore and experiment with his style. The snowboarder has, since, brought home many medals and glory. The 3x Olympic medalist became an inspiration for the athlete to try new things and add an X-factor to his performance. Shaun White has managed to create history in his snowboarding career.
