Iconic Tony Hawk And Late $300M Worth Snowboarding Legend Were the Inspiration Behind Shaun White Launching His Own Brand

Five-time Olympian and three-time Olympic gold medalist snowboarding legend, Shaun White, recently shared an exciting tweet about his aspirations while growing up. He gives an insight into the people whom he idolized.

White holds records for the highest number of Olympic gold medals as well as the most X Games gold medals. He is one of the most successful snowboarders of all time.

Shaun White idolized Tony Hawk and another legendary snowboarder!

White recently shared an interesting fact via a tweet about the people whom he idolized. He says, “I grew up idolizing @TonyHawk, I was around Jake Burton … these guys owned their own brands. I’ve always kind of admired and wanted to do that…” Thanks to all this motivation and inspiration, White built his own brand called Whitespace. It sells signature snowboards, including some of the most exclusive limited collections.

He shared how he always wanted to build a brand like Tony Hawk and Jake Burton. White shared how being around these legends was like a crash course for him on how to make a brand. He was interested in creating a similar brand of his own. Although, in his words, he wasn’t really sure of his ability to do so.

Moving forward, White shared that although Juke Burton was his partner for a long time, he would have been happy today, had he been alive, by the fact that White is following his own path now. White parted ways with Burton some time back to create his own brand. Apparently, he has been pretty successful as well in doing that.

White endorses some huge brands!

Considering his success in snowboarding, it doesn’t come as a surprise that White has endorsement deals with some of the biggest brands in the world. Some of these brands are Red Bull, Hewlett-Packard, American Express, Target Corporation, etc. What is interesting is, he also endorses Burton’s brand, Burton Snowboards.

It is interesting to get insights into the life of stars like Shaun White. Notably, it is great to see that stars like him idolize Hawk and step in their footsteps! It would be interesting to see where his journey in terms of running the brand takes him next.
