In 2018, Chloe Kim became the youngest female snowboarder to win a Gold Medal. She was just 17 years old then. Cut to 2022, Kim grabbed her 2nd Olympic Gold Medal in the halfpipe. And lo-and-behold, the snowboarding world had a new queen who was ready to take over.
Before the Olympics, Chloe Kim also won a record number of 6 X Games. In addition, she is also a 2-time champion of the Youth Winter Olympic Games. Kim knows her way with the snowboard quite well. In fact in Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, her very first run was enough for her to win the medal.

However, Kim has recently revealed that she will take a season off from snowboarding. After a rigorous Olympic season, she wants to take some time off the sport. Notably, this is not the first time that Chloe has taken a break from the sport.
Chloe Kim to take a break from snowboarding
After the 2018 Olympic season,?Chloe Kim?went through a tough time. Even though she won the Gold Medal, she was not happy. She was under a lot of pressure and stress. This was all a bit too much for Kim.

She then decided to take a break from the sport. The then 17-year-old took a 22-month long break from the sport and went to Princeton University. She only came back when she felt like she was ready to take on all the pressure again. Now, after a tiring year, Kim had decided that she will take a season off.
?Just for my mental health,? revealed Kim. She revealed she does not want to go back to the training immediately after this season.
?Just want to kind of reset, don?t want to get right back into it after such a fun, but draining year knowing that it was an Olympic year.” But this does not mean that we won’t be seeing more of Chloe.
Will Kim be seen in the future Olympics?

However, Chloe Kim has made it clear that she will go for a 3rd medal. If Kim wins the 3rd Gold, she will become the first woman to win 3 Olympic Golds in snowboarding.
“I just want to enjoy this moment, take it all in and then get back to it when I?m feeling ready. But as of now, the plan is most definitely to go after a third medal,? said the snow queen.
She will take this time off and concentrate on herself. Hopefully, she will be back soon, and we wish her the very best for the future.
