Mikaela Shiffrin’s beau faced a major setback because of an injury. The skiing icon recently shared that when he recalls the memory, he could see himself hurtling down the ski slope at 120 km/h (74.6 mph) but all he could remember was darkness. The terrifying incident happened to Aleksander Kilde during the World Cup downhill race in Wengen, Switzerland.
The Norwegian alpine skier suffered a severe injury during the event. The two-time Olympic medalist had his shoulder dislocated, two torn shoulder ligaments, and a distressing laceration on his calf, causing huge damage. It took him a long time to come back to a stable position, but what remains constant after the love from his family, friends, and girlfriend is the support he gathered from his fans during these days.
Kilde takes it slow but steady
Recently, Kilde shared a video where he could be seen on a special treadmill walking effortlessly. It is an anti-gravity trade mill, which helps injured people remain on the ground without the force of gravity hurting them. It was captioned “Slow and steady… pace is a bit different from what I’m used to, but it’s progress.”
