2022 hasn’t been the best year for the alpine skiing champ, Lindsey Vonn. The skier had lost quite a few loved ones within a year. Remembering them as the year ended, Vonn shared an emotional post on her Instagram. Touched by the words she shared, many celebrities came forward to show their love and cheer up the skier, including tennis icon Billie Jean King and renowned fashion designer Vera Wang.

Vonn lost three family members in the year 2022. These included her mother, grandmother, and her dog, Bear. Vonn shared a series of photos with them each one of them. Reminiscing the memories she had with them, Vonn wrote about the greatest teaching she got from her mother. The former alpine ski champ added that though she is still grieving their loss, she will always cherish the time spent with them.

In the caption of her post on Instagram, Vonn mentioned how the loss has reinforced an ideology of her mother. Notably, she learned from her mother not to waste a single opportunity and appreciate everything she can. Ending the caption, she wrote, ” Cheers to a new year; in memory of those no longer with us, with appreciation and love for what time we had, but also for what is still to come. Miss and love you ❤️ Here we come 2023!!”

Touched by her words, ace fashion designer, Vera Wang commented, “What an inspiration. TOO MUCH LOSS Sorry to hear. XXV.” Sports icon, Billie Jean King, on the other hand, also commented, “Thinking of you.” To this Vonn replied, “thanks BJK🙏❤”

Inspired by her words Bicycle motocross racer, Alise Willoughby commented, “Great words to live by!” Constance Schwartz wrote, “Thinking of you Lindsey. ❤️❤️and what a tribute to your Mom and Grandmother’s legacy for living each day to its fullest and inspiring so many.” Furthermore, Olympic Saber Fencer, Monica Aksamit commented, “Sending you my love!”

Additionally, those who were left speechless showed their love and support by sharing red heart emojis. These included Vonn’s fellow skier Bella Wright, fitness coach Ariel Belgrave, softball player Allie Skaggs, and news website Ski racing media. Attempting to cheer up the skier, tennis player Iga Swiatek commented, “Here we come 🙌🔥”

Notably, 2022 began on a sorrowful note for Lindsey Vonn when her dog passed away in January. Then, Vonn’s grandmother passed away in February 2022. Moreover, her mother lost the year-long battle with ALS, a nervous system disease, in August of the same year.
