Stephanie Hays and Jason Sharpe didn’t just celebrate turning 50—they went all in according to the Vail Daily. In eight whirlwind months, this adventurous duo hit up 58 ski resorts across three continents, four countries, and four states. But wait, there’s more! It wasn’t just about skiing—they threw in snowmobiling in Canada, dipping in Japanese onsens, and roaming Chile’s snowy landscapes. After 10 years of dreaming and planning, they kicked off the adventure with a family trip to Canada, and from there, the snow-packed fun never stopped.

Hays first floated the idea 10 years ago, and after some convincing, Sharpe finally hopped on board. By February, they were shredding through Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, taking selfies, hitting the powder, and laughing along the way. Oh, but the real magic? Japan! They planned to hit 10 resorts, but ended up with 16! As Hays put it, “Anyone that’s sitting on the fence about going just needs to pull the trigger and go.” With amazing skiing, a café on the slopes, and bakery stops, Hakuba Valley stole the show. And if you thought that was the end, think again!

They wrapped up their Northern Hemisphere tour with their favorite Colorado resorts before jetting off to Chile. Picture this: skiing around a volcano at El Colorado—talk about a bucket-list moment! While Argentina got snowed out, Hays jokingly asked Sharpe if he was down for a quick New Zealand trip. His response? “Find another ski partner!”

Now back home, they’ve realized just how special their own local mountains are. As Hays says, “Be flexible. You never know what’s going to happen,” but one thing’s for sure—they wouldn’t change a thing. Out of all the jaw-dropping spots Hays and Sharpe hit, there’s one American location that’s about to shine on an even bigger stage—the upcoming FIS Skiing World Cup! Curious about where this epic location is?

Hold your skis, because the duo took on Beaver Creek! After a March ski trip that included Purgatory, Wolf Creek, Snowmass, and Aspen Highlands, they capped it off with a morning at Beaver Creek, where a storm graced them with powder so perfect, it was downright irresistible. Just one taste of that powdery bliss, and they were hooked. “Our favorite resort in Colorado,” they said of Crested Butte, but Beaver Creek clearly stole a piece of their hearts.

Back in Colorado, the pair hit Monarch, Loveland, and Arapahoe Basin—places they hadn’t visited in 30 years! But that’s not all—despite all the tempting slopes, they decided to skip Breckenridge and Telluride entirely. Why? To squeeze in a few extra days at Beaver Creek before it closed for the season.
