Ski legend Lindsey Vonn has developed a charismatic dominance on the skiing slopes. She is ruthless in the world of alpine racing, which has helped her get the ‘Speed Queen’ title. 4x World Champion Vonn has enjoyed a spectacular 15-year career, before announcing retirement in February 2019. Since then she has fondly reminisced about her past glory, despite the adversities and surgeries that surround it.

Recently, Vonn put up a show again, that brought her to the slopes of Colorado. While she has exited the realm of professional skiing competition, she continues to enjoy the wintery slopes. And, with insurmountable speed.

Not slowing down

For 39-year-old Lindsey Vonn, her love for skiing surpasses everything. In a recent Instagram post, which she also took to repost in her story, Vonn shared a clip skiing with eternal grace and dominant speed. She captioned her story, “I just wanna go fast.” In the original post, the caption mentions, “Catch me if you can… because I’m not slowing down! 💨⛰️⛷️.”

Referencing ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’ which was released ten years ago, the quote “I just wanna go fast,” is a catchphrase from Bobby that has stuck with her.

Finding herself on the slopes of Colorado in the chills of winter, her skiing speed has left fans aghast. They are pleased to see the former Alpine skiing athlete start the 2024 season with speed. In yet another post, she shared exclusive footage in which she filmed herself sloping, captioning, “Bluebird day with perfect groomers = ripping some fast turns!! Nothing better.”

Widely regarded as the greatest female ski racer of all time, Lindsey Vonn has always lived up to her title of the ‘speed queen.’ And, she has proved that her injuries will not keep her away from it.

Lindsey Vonn’s health update

Vonn has suffered from knee injuries across her prolific career. She has undergone multiple knee surgeries following her retirement in 2019 to repair her torn LCL. With more than 10 surgeries, her body has been in a constant state of pain. Talking about it she adds, “I definitely paid a heavy price for the success I had in my skiing career. But I have no regrets.”

Showing resiliency despite the critical surgeries last year, Vonn has been chasing the slopes and blue skies with strong optimism, which fans have strongly appreciated.
