Looking back at the days that helped an athlete to achieve glory is a special feeling. What makes it more special is when someone revisits the exact location which bore witness to the crowing. Alpine ski icon Lindsey Vonn had a similar experience when she went back to Vancouver, decades after she had clinched her first Olympics gold.
Sharing snippets from her journey back in time, the 39-year-old was seen buzzing with excitement. Debuting in the Worlds at the tender age of 16, Vonn soon got everyone’s attention with her impeccable display. Thus, it was expected that Vonn’s visit to the Whistler would be wrapped in an envelope of nostalgia.
Lindsey Vonn revisits her 2010 glory

Vonn posted a series of snaps and videos on her Instagram story to let her fans know about her latest adventure. Well, this was a very special one for the skier because, after 14 long years, Vonn went back to the place where it all started. Although she has several other accolades to show off, an Olympic gold is always special.

Vonn also described the weather of the location and stated that it had a heavy covering of fog. This limited her visibility significantly and the 39-year-old found it hard to locate the trail. Ultimately, she was able to find the track, much to her joy and she also shared a couple of updates about the same.
Speaking about how much of a change she witnessed, Vonn said that the area looked quite forlorn and the covering of snow has decreased significantly since 2010. However, when she spotted the iconic Olympic rings, the 2010 Olympic gold medal winner could not help but feel a rush of emotions flowing through her. However, speaking about emotions and triumphs, the 2010 Olympics is not the solitary moment of reckoning for Lindsey Vonn.

A look back at Lindsey Vonn’s illustrious career
Lindsey came into the sport via her dad, who won the junior title back in the day. She quickly caught up with art from her father and made her Olympic debut at the age of 17, at Salt Lake in 2002. Soon she followed up on her good work by winning her maiden race at the 2007 Worlds while clinching the overall glory at the 2008 World Cup.

Vonn seldom had a slip up as she got into the record books after winning her first World Championship in 2009. She was the first American female athlete to clinch a super-G triumph. Going forward, Vonn won four World titles before putting an end to her glorious career in 2019.
