Lindsey Vonn, the American ski racing legend, recently took to social media to remember her mother, Linda Lund, on what would have been her 71st birthday. Vonn’s mother passed away last year in August after a long battle with ALS. In her emotional post, Vonn shared several photos of her and her mother, along with a touching message expressing her love and gratitude towards her late mother.

The Olympic medalist posted various pictures including one from Vonn’s childhood. The caption read, I miss your smile. I miss your laugh. I miss your overly positive attitude. I miss calling you when I need a shoulder to cry on. I just wish you were here…”  The post was a heartfelt tribute to Vonn’s mother and a reflection of the profound impact she had on Vonn’s life and career.

Vonn’s mother was her biggest supporter throughout her skiing career. She was always there for Vonn, cheering her on from the sidelines, and celebrating her victories. 

The loss of Vonn’s mother had a huge impact on her life and career. It was a devastating blow to Vonn, who had the fortune of enjoying her mother’s support throughout her career. Her mother’s terminal illness inspired Vonn to become an advocate for ALS research, and she has been vocal in her efforts to raise awareness and funds for the disease.

The four-time World Champion once opened up about the struggles Linda had to face while giving birth to skiing queen. Linda had a stroke when she gave birth to Vonn. The shock paralyzed her left leg which caused her trouble in performing daily tasks. Despite facing many challenges, Vonn never saw her mother complaining. In fact, Linda was one of the strongest people she ever met.
