The Audi FIS Alpine Ski World has produced some stellar performances over the past few weeks. The event is now in full flow with Birds of Prey in Beaver Creek set to witness an exhilarating clash between the likes of Aleksander Kilde and Marco Odermatt.
While Kilde is a Norwegian skier and husband of alpine skiing legend Mikaela Shiffrin, Odermatt is a Swiss skier and was ranked 2nd at last year’s race. Both the athletes are highly accomplished and were again set to clash in the Men’s Downhill race at Beaver Creek, Colorado. However, the highly anticipated clash has been delayed.

Aleksander Kilde was last season’s downhill title winner and would be looking to repeat the same. On the other hand, Marco Odermatt would be looking to avenge the last year’s loss. It surely was going to be a mouth-watering clash this time. However, Mother Nature has some other plans and the race has been delayed.

In the latest social media update, the FIS Alpine announced on Twitter that the men’s World Cup downhill race was delayed. “Info Beaver Creek: Due to last night snowfall, to allow the team to work on the hill, today’s Men’s DH program is delayed”, the post read. However, there is still some hope left. “Next information will be at 11:00. Fingers crossed for a race today,” FIS added.
The men’s World Cup programs have been unlucky this year, with multiple races already getting canceled earlier. The DH race at Beaver Creek was surely going to be an entertaining one. As we wait for an update from FIS, Aleksander Kilde had earlier sent a strong message to his rivals ahead of the race.

Aleksander Kilde cautions rivals
The Norwegian skier currently holds the title of the fastest man skis. The 3x Beaver Creek winner is aiming to go for the fourth victory and has set his intentions clear. He recently sent a strong message to his rivals as he looks to dominate the Birds of Prey.

The 31-year-old uploaded a picture of him on Instagram, where he could be seen training for the Beaver Creek race. “It’s a pleasure to be back on this Birds of Prey track.”, he wrote. As Kilde looks to make Mikaela Shiffrin proud, it’s unfortunate that fans will have to wait more for this clash.
