From a layman’s perspective, surfing will appear to be a risky sport. Moreover, this sport is performed on multiple types of waves, bringing multiple layers of complexity to the sports. One such wave is called the pipeline. Although it looks magnificent from a distance, it is one of the world’s deadliest waves. Recently, young surfer Koa Rothman talked about the unfortunate incidents that happened with his friends while pipeline surfing.

Pipe master Koa Rothman is an avid surfer from Hawaii. He first entered surfing in the 2008 Men’s Qualifying Series. Passionate about surfing, Rothman shares valuable surfing insights and updates with his fans through his YouTube channel. Recently, he talked about the gnarly life of pipeline surfers.

Koa Rothman talks about the injuries of his friends while surfing

Recently, Rothman participated in a pipeline surfing competition. He created a vlog of the event on his YouTube channel. While covering the whereabouts of the events, he learned about the injury of his friend who was surfing on a pipeline wave. The surfer shared that his friend got injured during one of the heats. Kothman ran down hurriedly to be with his friends but was saved by professional life savers.

Further, Rothman shared that his friend was knocked unconscious and hurt his forehead. He talked about his friend’s condition and said, “I’ve seen him he was unconscious at first and then came to he had got knocked out and was coming back and he was just throwing up water he said a couple words, he was bleeding.”

Rothman also shared another story of one of his friends, Billy, who got injured the previous day and was majorly knocked out. Adding to the tough pipeline life, Rothman also expressed how dangerous the pipeline waves are, “people forget how gnarly this wave is well this wave is taking more lives than anywhere”

He added that as pipeline surfers, they have developed the technique to bring people back and cure those who get hit by pipeline. He also mentioned that life lifeguards and flying water patrols regularly monitor the beaches to save surfers from drowning too.

Surfing stars in one vlog made the day for fans

Although surfing is a risky sport, it is also entertaining. Many famous surfers share fun vlogs keeping fans engrossed with the surfing world. This has created a great fan base for many surfers like Jamie O’Brien, Shane Dorian, Lakey Peterson, and Mason Ho.

Last year, fans were mesmerized when all these surfing stars were featured in one YouTube video. A famous Facebook page featured them hitting the surfing ranch at the Waco surfing zone. Moreover, these surfing stars performed multiple surfing techniques, and amidst that, they passed the camera to each other in between waves.
