According to ROSMELL DAILY RECORD News, Zamora was Tony’s first choice. However, the final decision was “People’s Choice”. Since his kindergarten days, Robert Zamora’s connection with skateboarding was deep. Tony Hawk’s Birdhouse logo skateboard was an omen of his future greatness. Now, at 31, Zamora’s creative flair and impressive skills have earned him the title of “Tony’s Pick” in the 2023 competition.  Zamora’s clean, unique, and innovative boardslide trick, caught Hawk’s attention through a online video submission.

The trick, which Zamora developed through practice, involves sliding the underside of the board at a perpendicular angle along a rail and a stylish cross of his feet. “I don’t think the trick has been done before. Ever. Until I did it“, said Zamora. To this Hawk said, “Come to my office, You can Teach me”.

Moreover, he wasn’t the first runner-up, but despite that, he seemed satisfied and excited about the trip. Nevertheless, Zamora’s win is equally celebrated in the community & he looks forward to a skate session with his idol, in San Diego. Beyond the triumph, the champ sees this as an opportunity to advocate for better skate parks in his hometown of Roswell. “If there’s anyone who can get us a new park, it’s Tony. He’s the guy,” says Zamora As a mentor to younger skaters, he believes skateboarding offers an outlet for creativity and self-expression. But let’s not forget the “People’s Choice” star.
