Tony Hawk is one of the main reasons for making skateboarding one of the most popular sports in the world. The legendary skateboarder is one of the pioneers of the sport and is the first athlete to perform the “900” skateboarding trick.

The former skateboarder has recently come up with a unique opportunity for his fans to be a part of his iconic “900” trick. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a limited one.

Tony Hawk and his unique trading card collaboration

The 12-time world champion Tony Hawk always has his way of giving back to his skateboarding community and his fans. The “Birdman” recently gave his Instagram followers and other fans to own his limited edition and tangible trading cards.

What is so unique about these cards? Trading card website ABD Collectibles, with whom Hawk has partnered for this opportunity, recently shared a video on their Instagram account. The video features Hawk performing his evergreen 900 skateboarding trick on an unknown ramp. In this video, Hawk then revealed the secret behind the “Last 900” cards.

“The ramp surface that I did this on, we changed shortly after. I made that working with ABD they cut up the sheets and put them in training cards,” explained Hawk. However, since it is the 900 trick, only 900 Hawk fans have the opportunity to buy these cards.

He further said, “You can own a piece of the ramp, I did my last 900 on. Each one was signed by me. And there are six tiers of activity, so whenever you order one, you don’t know what you’re gonna get. So, everyone’s chances are equal.” The skateboarding legend surely knows how to create interesting proposals for his fans and make them a part of his historic journey.

Since its formation in 1994, the X Games has seen some of the most insane and iconic sporting tricks. However, one moment that stuck with everyone all these years was Tony Hawk’s 900 skateboarding trick.

For decades, the vertical skateboarder worked relentlessly to nail the impossible trick. At the 1999 X Games event, Hawk attempted to perform the 900 tricks but failed ten times. Although everyone had given up their hopes on Hawk, the legend did not stop.

Luckily 11th time was the charm for the “Birdman”. Hawk did two and a half full rotations of the board and landed safely on the ground. The spectators, commentators, and his fellow skaters went crazy as Hawk finally succeeded in creating history after several failed attempts.
