In the Twitter video, the visually impaired boy was seen skateboarding in front of a building. He wanted to jump his skateboard from over three staircase steps. He first cruised for a few seconds and then immediately got down from his board, before reaching the steps. With his long cane, he measured the distance between the steps and also how much he had to jump.

He then began his attempts to skateboard over the staircase. On his first try, he jumped over the stairs but fell while landing. On his second try, the skateboarder rolled on the ground after falling. Finally, in his third attempt, the young skateboarder perfectly balanced, his weight, speed, and landing. He swiftly moved on his skateboard after jumping from the stairs. Watching his success, his friends celebrated his achievement with him. Nevertheless, the page that shared the video, rightly described the skateboarder in the caption, “Blind skateboarder shows perseverance is the answer.”

After skateboarding’s growing popularity, the sport made its debut at the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo. In that championship, 27-year-old Andy Anderson performed exceptionally well and grabbed Hawk’s attention with his moves.

He praised the young skateboarder’s impeccable talent in a podcast interview with John Cullen, a Semiahmoo Secondary grad. Hawk told Anderson, “He’s an awesome skater… he’s doing these tricks on ledges, and he does these impossibly hard combinations of tricks.” He was stunned to see the skateboarder performing a mix of modern and old tricks reaching right at the top of the skateboarding ramp. Although Anderson qualified for the Olympic games later on, he could not compete due to his leg injury.
