Sky Brown, apart from being a skateboarder and surfer, is also known for her YouTube channel “Sky and Ocean,” where she shares her vlogs primarily focused on skateboarding and surfing. In this recent vlog, she revisited Southern California with her friends, including a surfer from Japan. The video began with some flashbacks of her surfing, displaying her mastery of the waves. However, the main portion of the vlog showcased her training routine of skateboarding. She captured moments of pure enjoyment as she spent time with her friends on the skateboard.

Finally, the vlog concluded with scenes of gymnastics, where Sky emphasized the importance of stretching and mobility work, stating, Stretching is super beneficial for getting your body loose before any physical activity, be it surfing or general fitness.” She demonstrated various stretches and even indulged in some sushi afterward. However, it’s worth noting that her accomplishments extend far beyond her years. As the youngest professional skateboarder in the world and a winner of the American TV program Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, her achievements defy age expectations.

From skateboarding sensation to Olympic heartbreak

Sky Brown boasts an impressive list of achievements in skateboarding, setting numerous records and earning accolades from a young age. Brown’s journey to success began in 2016 when, at the age of 8, she became the youngest participant in the Vans US Open. At just 10 years old, Brown became the youngest professional skateboarder globally. Then in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she clinched the bronze medal in the women’s park skateboarding event.

In 2024, at the ISA World Surfing Games in Puerto Rico, Brown found herself losing. Her dream of donning the colors of Team GB in both surfing and skateboarding hung in the balance. Despite her stellar performance as the reigning world champion in park skateboarding, Brown encountered formidable opponents in the surfing arena which dashed her dreams.
