With over two decades of shredding the streets and a passion for building skateparks in his community and beating talented skateboarders, Manion finally won public hearts. Beyond the thrill of victory, he now looks forward to an unforgettable skate session with his idol Hawk and a big hefty amount in cash given publicly. The $10,000 Prize and Michael Manion’s Skatepark Hero Win

On 29th July, Skatepark Hero officially announced the winner on Instagram. The account posted a reel showcasing Manion, thanking the audience and his moves, with an elaborate caption. It stated, 

We are stoked to announce that the 2023 Skatepark Hero is Michael Manion (@mikeman_onthatrac)! Michael shreds the streets of Southern Georgia, where his passion for helping open skateparks within his local community was established. He’ll be heading to San Diego to skate with @tonyhawk and taking home $10k! Learn more about our winner at the link in our bio 🔗 We also want to thank the incredible Skatepark Hero community! Manion has won $10k in cash, a chance to have a personalized skating session with Hawk Spanning from May 15th to July 20th, the competition garnered worldwide attention from skateboard enthusiasts, culminating in the coronation of the “People’s Choice” star, Michael Manion.

Behind the scenes of the Skatepark Hero competition lies an exciting partnership between Colossal Management and legend Tony Hawk. This unique collaboration brings forth a revolutionary fundraising approach through online competitions, showcasing talented individuals while supporting a noble cause. As per their post, the collaboration has raised $768,498 funding.

Colossal’s dedication to organizing Tony Hawk’s Skatepark Hero competition was driven by their commitment to fundraising for DTCare. Donations received during the voting process would then be directed towards The Skatepark Project, after covering necessary competition fees and costs.

Hawk has been into their YouTube videos and various social media platforms to raise awareness as much as he can for making this as one of the biggest competitions. He picked Robert Zamora as the second winner. However, the final decision was dependent on public voting. The recognition Manion has got as a winner reflects the heartfelt support and love of the skateboarding community.
