The skateboarding world is now gaining a stronger foothold in mainstream culture. The sport of skateboarding first got the popular vote of approval in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Since then, skateboarding has seen a surge in recognition worldwide. Even the Design Museum in London unveiled an exhibition dedicated to showcasing the evolution of skateboarding. Interestingly, skateboarders now have access to more modern gear, which makes it easier for them to display their tricks in style. Along similar lines, one of the biggest brands in the industry and Nike’s biggest rival has announced a new line of skateboarding shoes in collaboration with BoTT.
BoTT, or Birth of The Teenager, is a company run by a Japanese artist named TEITO. Recently, Converse, which is valued at $2 billion, offered the artist a unique collaboration deal to overhaul their existing archive of skateboarding models.

Converse sneakers are the ultimate symbol of fashion among the youth. The company has always fostered an image of rebellion and counterculture to attract its demographics. For this reason, they have collaborated with designers such as Tyler the Creator, Off-White, and Comme des Garçons and created innovative designs for their classic sneakers. Now, the well-known brand has joined hands with the Tokyo-based footwear company BoTT to create some epic skateboarding models. The first two in their range are the Deckstar and CX-Pro models. According to Hypebeast, the Deckstar Elite SK BoTT+ has received a lustrous leather encasing with gunmetal grommets at the uppers. The Proride SK BoTT OX+, on the other hand, has a blue suede upper with contrasting embroidery.
The soles of both models are different to give them a distinct look. However, the two models have a resemblance in the placement and style of branding. The Deckstar Elite SK BoTT+ and the Proride SK BoTT OX+ have similar BoTT logos and Converse branding. Both the skateboarding shoes will be available on the Converse and the BoTT website for purchase from August 25 onwards. Converse wanted to continue its established legacy and found a natural ally in BoTT because of the likeness in its creative vision.
