From time to time, he has shown how he is never afraid of trying out different things. In light of this, once Tony was spotted on the skateboard in the hallways of the White House.

Hawk momentarily skated in the Grand Foyer during a Friday visit to the White House. It was an event for Father’s Day, which former President Obama organized. Then, Hawk rode across a hallway with striped tiles at the adjoining Old Executive Office Building.

He soon uploaded pictures of his extraordinary adventure online. He captioned it, “June 2009: I went to the White House for Father’s Day event & skated around a bit. Some pundits got upset, saying it was disrespectful (even though I caused no damage & kinda had permission). I don’t regret it & would do it again. But I doubt it would make the news cycle anymore.”‘

Meanwhile, his fans appreciated him and asked him to invite Obama to skateboard. However, some criticized him for doing such a thing in the White House.

He faced backlashes even after saying that he caused no damage. At various times, the legend has gotten into controversies, like the time when he used his blood on the skateboard instead of paint.

After seeing all the hateful comments filling up his Twitter handle, he clarified to everyone about the permission. Tony quoted, “Wow, haters! My passion, the sport that made me who I am, has allowed me to live the American Dream, disrespects the White House? Not at all.” Again adding how he didn’t do any damage, he said, “I did no damage, as I also saw cart and trolley wheels rolling along the same floor. Funny how football on the WH lawn yesterday = no drama.”

Still, his critics pounded their anger on him, calling the act disrespectful. He even replied to TMZ’s poster, “I don’t care if he had permission. I don’t care if some nitwits think this is ‘cool.’ It is a disgrace. You don’t ride in the house, and you don’t ride in the People’s House. It’s a lame, self-aggrandizing display by a disrespecting loser.” Apart from the opinion, everyone has, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the legendary skateboarder.
