On 30th July, the actor left this world for his heavenly abode at age 70 after battling 6 years of his life with cancer. Fondly remembered as a pioneer in comedy, Reubens’ impact on the industry was far-reaching and profound.

Along with the entertainment world, fans from the sports community are also heart broken following the demise of Reubens. Along similar lines, Skateboarding legend, Tony Hawk also paid tribute to his dear friend in an Instagram post. He wrote a heartfelt eulogy showcasing his genuine friendship, the loss of a beloved entertainer, and the time they cherished together.

On 1st August 2023, Hawk took to Instagram and shared 3 pictures in a post. Hawk expressed his grief over the loss of a true pioneer, and the depth of the bond they shared became evident through his touching words. The heartfelt message also mentioned the flood of birthday memes that Reubens would be sorely missed for. “

We’ve lost a true pioneer and one of the most genuine friends you could ever hope for. I’ll miss the flood of birthday memes Paul. These pics are from when I interviewed him in 2019 but a certain radio company wouldn’t amend his appearance release so the episode never aired. But it was an honor to sit in his presence and hear his stories. Merci beaucoup, PeeWee,” he penned.

Paul Reubens’ last words to his fans

The beloved comedian chose to keep his health journey a personal matter, only making it public after his passing at the age of 70. In a touching message, Reubens expressed his regret for not sharing his struggle with the world, while acknowledging the tremendous love and respect he had received from friends, fans, and supporters throughout the years.

“Please accept my apology for not going public with what I’ve been facing the last six years I have always felt a huge amount of love and respect from my friends, fans, and supporters. I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you” he wrote to his fans.
