“Accidental Renaissance”: Tony Hawk’s Post Femur Injury Concert Picture Looks More Like a Da Vinci Painting

It seems that nothing is impossible for legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk. The 53-year-old, who broke his femur in March 2022, was spotted doing almost everything in a short span. Recently, the skateboarder entertained his guests with a peaceful supper. Hawk’s ability to do everyday activities with a broken femur has surprised a lot of his fans.

Tony Hawk, nicknamed Birdman, was the winner of ten gold medals at the Summer X Games. Moreover, he is also known as the pioneer of modern vertical skateboarding. One of the biggest highlights in his career was turning skateboarding into his own video game series.

Tony Hawk entertains people while being on crutches

Hawk injured his femur earlier this year and is currently recovering from it. However, during the period of nursing his injury, nothing has seemed impossible for him. In a recent Instagram post, Tony Hawk was seen enjoying dinner with his friends.

Hawk’s friends sat at a dining table while he stood with his crutches to entertain the guests. The ambience of the picture appeared very aesthetic with a subtle tone of melancholy. It appeared almost like a surreal supper gathering, straight out of a Da Vinci painting. One of Hawk’s friends uploaded the picture on Instagram and captioned it : ‘Accidental Renaissance.’

Tony Hawk was walking nine days after his injury. He shared a video of himself trying to walk in his house. The skateboarder was barefoot with no cast, brace, or crutches. He could successfully take a few steps in the video.

When Tony Hawk injured his femur, he shared the news on his Instagram with a gruesome image of his femur X-ray. He wrote in the post, “Yesterday sucked. I broke my elbow 20 years ago and managed to make a full comeback; this recovery for a broken femur will be much harder because of its severity (and my age). But I’m up for the challenge.”

As a matter of fact, Tony has not fully recovered from his injury. There are major doubts about how much he will be able to skate.

How did Tony injure his femur?

Hawk’s injury happened due to a skating accident on 8 March 2022. For the first few days, he was admitted to the hospital for faster recovery. However, when Hawk shared the news of his injury, he did not specify the timeline of the recovery because it was too soon to tell.

After his accident, people doubted if Hawk would ever skate again. The skateboarder shocked everyone when he showed unbelievable progress. Within a few months, Hawk was able to perform kickflip in skateboarding. It’s safe to say, that Hawk will rise again irrespective of his injury like a true ‘Renaissance Man.’
