Tony Hawk shares a PSA about pills

The legendary skateboarder Hawk, and his close friend and radio personality Jason Ellis together, have a podcast named Hawk vs Wolf. The duo casually talks about skateboarding, music, and many other things.

In their recent episode, the two discussed Hawk’s femur injury and his recovery phase. When Ellis mentioned pills, Hawk quickly reacted, “Oh man, I am taking so many pills.” And when Ellis joked about enjoying the “painkillers” Hawk replied, “It’s like when it starts to hurt it’s so out of control that like [hand moves to show pain].”

However, Hawk quickly turned serious about the topic and stated how painkillers could turn into an addiction. He termed it a “slippery slope”. Many young people easily fall into the trap of painkillers, and Hawk had a special warning for his fans. “I can’t implore enough for anyone out there, do not go down that path like if when you get hurt and you’re on painkillers and you just want to keep feeling like that, and it’s not about your injury anymore, that’s the time when its a problem,” advised the legend.
