During the Olympics, athletes enjoy access to an extensive variety of gourmet dishes, with over 500 options from international cuisines. Despite this impressive buffet, many wonder if elite athletes like Simone Biles sometimes crave comforting fast food. For Biles, the answer is yes; her go-to fast food order is both relatable and simple, reflecting a special connection to her home state of Texas. Simone’s interview with Eater revealed her love for the Texas fast-food chain Whataburger. Known for its delicious breakfast burgers and Dr. Pepper Shakes, Whataburger’s popular ketchup is apparently the best one Patrick Mahomes has ever eaten.

Meanwhile, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, The Breakfast Klub, and Tewbeleaux are also some food joints where you’ll find Simone Biles grabbing a bite or two. Besides, she is a pizza enthusiast and relishes a delectable slice of the creamy Provel cheese used by St. Louis institution Imo’s Pizza. However, Biles’ elite selection of oysters, caviar, and anything with gold leaf is not off the table. Therefore, you can expect an interesting menu from the house of “Taste of Gold.”

It wouldn’t be a surprise if the theme of “Taste of Gold” is solely Texas, because we know how deeply connected Biles is with her hometown, Spring.

Meanwhile, her choice of location is also pretty interesting. It looks like Simone Biles wants the people to get a touch of Texas right when they enter or leave the IAH Terminal A. What a unique place to extend the roots of one’s homeland! But why did Simone Biles choose the airport?

What is Simone Biles’ aim with her new business venture at Bush Airport?

Simone Biles is opening her new restaurant at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). The restaurant, near Gate A8 in Terminal A, will open in early 2025. For the project, Biles has partnered with The Playmakers Group to enhance the airport’s culinary diversity. Meanwhile, the IAH has ranked among the Top 10 World’s Best Airport Dining Experiences in 2024, welcoming 46.1 million passengers in 2023. This achievement might have been the reason why Simone Biles chose an airport to open her first restaurant.

“Taste of Gold” will feature a chef-crafted menu designed to impress every traveler. The menu includes signature food and beverage items curated by industry innovator Mark Brezinski. Biles said: “I am a foodie at heart, and our hope with Taste of Gold is to offer a beautiful dining experience that features award-winning, signature menu items with some of my favorite flavors sprinkled in for our guests.”
